People-watching and good eats aside, half the fun of dining out in LoDo is recalling the history behind each new joint.
In the space formerly known to Del Mar Crab House, comes Osteria Marco, a casual tavern that serves-up straightforward Italian fare. According to owner Frank Bonanno who brought us Mizuna and Luca d’ Italia, Osteria Marco is, “a simply a fun place to relax, eat and enjoy a great bottle of wine.”
The white-washed Del Mar Crab House vibe is long gone too. They’ve cozied up the space with dark wood booths, exposed brick, a subterranean bar and added even added in a salami bar right off the front door.

| The overall casual feel and unassuming attitude matches a simple Italian menu where prices fall nicely into the budget-friendly $9-$11 range. Better yet, they have roughly 20 wines by the glass starting as low as five bucks. As for the fare, the best bets are the Colorado lamp panini with goat cheese and tepenade, the Carne pizza topped with sausage, meatballs, pepperoni and house ricotta. Make sure to also try-out the bresola, a wine cured beef that’s as packs a .
All in all, Bonanno has succeeded at creating a LoDo eatery that manages to bring together a casual-yet-cool vibe, intriguing menu and respectable wine list…all without the usual LoDo showboating. All of which ensures that Osteria Marco will be a hot destination, for at least the next five minutes.
